Personal Interests

Jayde enjoys spending time with her loving husband and precious children in the great outdoors. Anything goes when it’s fun in the sun, but a fly rod in her hand is what she loves best. Catching fresh fish and cooking up a delicious meal with family and friends gathered around the table is a typical evening in her home. For her, this is the description of “edible love” and is the perfect way to end a day.

Jayde Kenter began her career as a registered nurse working at a level 3 emergency department, a specialized pediatric PACU, and at various locations as a hospice nurse before pursuing a degree in physician assistant studies. As an RN, she received Employee of the Month and was recognized on Memorial Hermann Southeast’s Hall of Fame for patient satisfaction and excellent customer service. While in the emergency room, she saw a need to treat patients holistically, and pursued further education in mission work and theological training, gaining a license in Ministry. After obtaining this license, she sought to expand her views of holism by volunteering at various faith based pregnancy crisis centers and was inspired to do more outreaches like this within her medical training. At UTMB, she held the position of President of Fellowship of Christian PA’s, where she witnessed the positive impact in addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs within patient care. Through her involvement, she was formally recognized by her Physician Assistant Program for acts of professionalism and compassion to patients during clinical rotations. While in PA school, she delivered her first son, and when she graduated, she was pregnant with her second. Through her own vulnerabilities and personal experience, she found herself drawn to women’s health.

Her clinical goals are to empower women to be actively involved with the care they receive, making sure treatment plans are tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient. She enjoys all aspects of women’s health and preventive medicine as well.
